WILL THE BUILD-UP BE INVISIBLE?

In our office we have over twenty shades of white fillings. This allows Dr Mike to match the colour of the build- up to the surrounding tooth so that the large filling will blend beautifully into its surroundings.

HOW STRONG IS THE BUILD UP?

The build- up is bonded onto the tooth and is extremely strong. However its longevity also depends on the patient’s bite and avoiding eating very hard foods on it.

WILL THE COLOUR OF THE BUILD- UP REMAIN STABLE?

In general, the build-up will remain the same colour. If it becomes slightly stained, Dr Mike can easily polish the stains away to restore it to its former glory.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES TO A BUILD-UP?

For younger patients, a proveneer (see the relevant section) is a popular, modern alternative. After the age of 18 years old, a porcelain veneer is the best aesthetic alternative in most circumstances.
